A medical call ended with police finding a sizable drug operation in South Knoxville.

On September 3 around 4:00 pm, Knoxville Police responded with EMS to a possible drug overdose at 401 Center Oak.  That 30-year-old man had apparently overdosed on an unknown drug.  He was treated and later released from the hospital.

While on that call, officers saw evidence of drug activity, and got a search warrant for the home.

During the search, officers found 31 large marijuana plants in the house.  They also discovered a large amount of what they suspect are hallucinogenic mushrooms.  Officers also found four ounces of processed marijuana, two bags of processed mushrooms, and a large amount of an unknown powder that will be sent to the TBI crime laboratory for analysis.

The man who was transported to the hospital, David J.F. Johnson, and another man who lived in the house, David D. Johnson, 62, were both charged with Manufacturing Marijuana and Manufacturing of a Schedule I Controlled Substance (Hallucinogenic Mushrooms).  Johnson also had several outstanding warrants for Probation Violation.

Additional charges may be placed after the evidence is processed by the TBI.
